Bungamati Khokana Twin Village Tour

Bungamati and Khokana are the twin classical villages which are located across the Bagmati river. Huge Shikhara style temple and Rato Machhindranath are the major attractions of the villages. People in both villages are hugely dependent on the agriculture and livestock farming. On a day trip to Bungamati and Khokana, you will see the typical women bailing straws, winnowing rice, weavine hay mats, spinning wool and men cutting the woods and farming outside their houses.
The rain god Rato Machhindranatha is believed to have been born in Bungamati village. Bungamati cultural museum, Dey Pukha (holy pond), Karyabinayak temple are the attraction that you will encounter throughout the way to Khokana. Khokana is the traditional newari village which is very worth to visit. Triple-tiered temple in the
heart of the town- Shree Rudrayeni Devi or Shakila Mai is the main attraction of the village.
