Nepal Trekking Seasons 2025

Before packing, it is useful to know when it is best to trek with Admiral Adventure Treks Pvt. Ltd. Good trails, clear skies and warm days are common in spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November). During the monsoon season (June to August), rain falls in most areas, but Upper Mustang stays dry. While it's serene and clear in the bottom, winter (December–February) is chilly at the top.

Spring (March–May)

Temp: Around 50–68 °F (10–20 °C) at 9,800 ft (3,000 meters), dipping to 32 °F (0 °C) or lower at night above 13,000 ft (4,000 meters)

What You’ll See: Bright pink and red rhododendron blooms from 6,500–11,500 ft (2,000–3,500 meters).

Sky: Mostly blue before the rains start.

Monsoon (June–August)

Trail: Lower hills get muddy and slippery.

Dry Zones: Upper Mustang and Dolpo stay mostly dry.

Bonus: Fewer trekkers and cheaper lodges.

Autumn (September–November)

Temp: Cool 46–68 °F (8–20 °C) at 9,800 ft (3,000 meters)—nice for all-day hikes.

View: Clear air for amazing mountain scenery.

Culture: Enjoy Dashain and Tihar festival celebrations in the villages.

Winter (December–February)

Lower Hills: Around 54 °F (12 °C) below 8,200 ft (2,500 meters)—pleasant walking.

Peace: Trails are mostly empty for quiet hikes.

Best Regions by Season

Everest Region: The safest seasons for flights and passes in the Everest region are spring and fall.

Annapurna Circuit: Open all year; monsoon on the southern side, spring/autumn for complete circuits.

Langtang Valley: Autumn is the best season in the Langtang Valley; spring and monsoon bring additional risks.

Upper Mustang & Dolpo: For dry routes and fewer hikers, go during the monsoon or winter.
